Trichy: A special loan disbursal drive for entrepreneurs in MSME sector and a bankers’ meeting were conducted at the Trichy district collector’s office on Monday. At the meeting attended by representatives from the leading banks, Trichy MP Su Thirunavukkarasar disbursed loan to the tune of 8.8 crore to 12 new entrepreneurs.
Officials said that the meeting discussed the developments of the banking sector in the district for the first financial quarter of 2023. Bank managers explained the loans disbursed to each sector and subsidies provided to the public under various schemes. The MP instructed the banks to ensure that the targets in sanctioning loans and providing subsidies should be achieved for every financial quarter.
Special camps to enroll beneficiaries under the Unemployed Youth Employment Generation Programme (UYEGP), New Entrepreneur and Enterprise Development Scheme (NEEDS), and Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) were organised as a part of the meeting.
