In a recent revelation, television actor Vivek Dahiya shared the intricacies of his love story with popular actress Divyanka Tripathi, shedding light on the hurdles he faced before tying the knot. The actor, known for his role in the TV show ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein,’ opened up about his initial reservations and the pivotal role played by co-actor Pankaj Bhatia in orchestrating their union.
The journey of Vivek and Divyanka’s relationship began on the sets of ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein,’ where they were introduced by a mutual acquaintance. Speaking in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Vivek disclosed the orchestrated setup, saying, “Somebody I was sharing my makeup room with had got ideas in his head that I could be a good life partner to Divyanka and vice versa.”
Despite their initial meetings, Vivek admitted to having concerns about the financial responsibilities that came with marrying a well-established star like Divyanka. He recounted his worry about affording her expenses and being known solely as ‘Divyanka’s husband’ in the industry.
In Vivek’s own words, “My first hiccup was that she is such a big star, how will I be able to take care of her expenses, how will I afford it? It was the beginning of my career, and I was trying to establish myself, and I needed that confidence.”
A pivotal figure in this unfolding love story was their co-actor Pankaj Bhatia, who reassured Vivek that Divyanka was independent and encouraged him to focus on his burgeoning career.
“He (Pankaj Bhatia) used to say, ‘tu poori zindagi thank you bolte nahi thakega (You will be grateful forever), that’s how wonderful she is,'” Vivek shared.
Overcoming these concerns about financial stability and public perception, Vivek decided to prioritize Divyanka’s opinion. Reflecting on their mature approach to marriage, he mentioned, “We spoke at length that this will happen. Before I proposed to her, we sat down in front of our families, and then she and the family made me aware that it is quite likely to happen that you will be tagged.”
Currently, Vivek Dahiya is participating in the dance reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa,’ while Divyanka Tripathi made a mark in ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 11,’ finishing as the first runner-up.
