The ‘Ahlan Modi’ event in Abu Dhabi has garnered an exceptional response, with over 65,000 registrations received, showcasing the immense enthusiasm for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Jitendra Vaidya, President of the Indian People Forum and leader of the ‘Ahlan Modi’ initiative, highlighted the unique nature of the community-driven event.

Describing it as a distinctive gathering without a single organizing entity, Vaidya emphasized the spontaneous outpouring of support when PM Modi’s name is associated with an event. He underscored the love and admiration for PM Modi within the Indian community in Abu Dhabi.

The ‘Ahlan Modi’ event, organized by the Indian community in Abu Dhabi, has become a focal point of attention, illustrating the widespread admiration and backing for Prime Minister Modi. Vaidya mentioned that registration for the event closed on February 2, reaching an overwhelming response from the Indian community in Abu Dhabi.

The Indian expatriate community, constituting approximately 3.5 million people, is the largest ethnic group in the UAE, making up around 35% of the country’s population.

The event’s highlights include an exhibition featuring over 700 cultural artists, showcasing the diversity of Indian arts and ensuring an inclusive cultural celebration. More than 150 Indian community groups actively participating in the event highlight India’s regional diversity and the integration of blue-collar workers from across the emirates, creating a tapestry of diversity and unity.

The organizing committee noted a remarkable display of solidarity and anticipation, particularly from the ‘Nari Shakti’ (women power) of the Indian community, who have registered in significant numbers and are actively promoting the event, embodying the spirit of women empowerment, communal harmony, and participation.

Indian ambassador to the UAE, Sunjay Sudhir, expressed that people are eager to hear Prime Minister Modi’s vision during the ‘Ahlan Modi’ event on February 13. He mentioned that the registration had to be closed at 65,000 attendees due to capacity constraints.

PM Modi’s visit to the UAE, starting tomorrow, will include an address to the Indian community at the ‘Ahlan Modi’ event, bilateral meetings with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and participation in the World Government Summit 2024 in Dubai as a Guest of Honour, where he will deliver a special keynote address. This marks PM Modi’s seventh visit to the UAE since 2015 and the third in the last eight months.
