Chennai: Vijayalakshmi is working as a police inspector at the all-women police station in Guduvanchery, Chennai. Four people including Jayamala, who works in the same police station, were engaged in night patrolling in Patappai area two days ago. Then they went to a juice shop operating in the same area.
The four constables, including the police inspector, demanded bribes from the vendors in the shop like juice, bread omelette, chocolate and drinking water cans and got into a dispute. Apart from that, they have threatened to cancel the license of the shop. Shocked by this, the owner of the shop filed a complaint at the Manimangalam police station. And the related CCTV footage went viral on social media.
In this situation, based on the shop owner’s complaint, Tambaram Municipal Police Commissioner Amalraj conducted an investigation with the CCTV footage. In the investigation, it was confirmed that the four policemen were involved in the robbery at the juice shop. Following this, Police Commissioner Amalraj has ordered the dismissal of four policemen including Police Inspector Vijayalakshmi and Jayamala.
