Trichy: Trichy corporation’s middle school in Bhima Nagar, in collaboration with a city-based training and development company, has initiated a robotics training programme for its students. The programme, which commenced on Tuesday, will span the entire academic year, with instructors from the training institute conducting weekly coaching sessions on the school premises at no cost.
School headmaster A R Sirajudeen said that approximately 150 students in the sixth grade will receive basic training in robotics, covering various foundational topics such as mathematics, basic programming, and electrical and electronics concepts. Due to limitations of space and time, the school management decided to offer the coaching programme exclusively to the sixth-grade students, who constitute a smaller group among the 900 students in grades one to eight. “During weekdays, the sixth-grade students will attend the robotics training session as part of their science class. The objective is to introduce the students to emerging technologies and help them develop promising careers,” the headmaster informed TOI.
